“Be the one who makes them feel welcome. Be the one who stands up for them as that face adversity and injustice. Be the one to say Black Lives Matter.”

Sydney Gidabuday

I am nervous about writing this. I am struggling with trying to understand what is happening in our country. We need to do better. This cannot be the America that our students, athletes, kids grow up in. Silence is not an option. The events of the last few weeks, months, and years are a weaponization of racial stereotypes and profiles. I have work to do, I stand with you, Black Lives Do Matter. I ask that you join me in learning about what can be done to help. Start by speaking up because your voice matters. No matter the eye rolls or shrugs you get from families and friends. – Coach Swartz
